3 Days Mount Nyiragongo Hike
3 Days Nyiragongo Volcano tour to view one of the most active volcanoes in the world located in Eastern Congo. Hiking the volcano can best be accessed through Goma by entering through Rwanda-Goma boarder in Gisenyi starting and ending in Kigali.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Gisenyi.
On arrival in Kigali, you will be picked by your tour guide from the airport and go for optional Kigali city tour. Visit the genocide memorial, local markets among others. You will then set off a scenic drive to Gisenyi with en route view of the virunga mountains. You will reach Gisenyi in the evening for Dinner and overnight at Paradise Malahide/Kivu Serena Hotel.
Day 2: Nyiragongo Hiking.
Early morning, you will cross over to Democratic Republic of Congo via Goma border and drive up to Kibatsi village where you will start the hiking of Nyiragongo from. Hiking will take 4-6 hours before reaching the top. Dinner and overnight at the top shelters as you enjoy the night view of molten lava.
Day 3: Descend the Volcano and transfer to Kigali.
In the morning, you will begin the descend of the volcano reaching Goma by midday. You will then cross over back to Rwanda and drive back to Kigali reaching early by 3pm and transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
