9 Days Uganda Hiking & Wildlife
9 Days Uganda Hiking Tour and wildlife safari startf from Kigali or Entebbe and end in Entebbe with one day hike of Mount Sabinyo, which is part of Virunga mountain ranges.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Kisoro.
On arrival at Kigali airport, you will be received by your guide/driver and go for brief Kigali city tour. Visit the genocide memorial, local markets among others. You will then drive northwards to Uganda in Kisoro via Cyanika border reaching in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Travelers Guest Hotel Kisoro/ Gahinga Lodge.
Day 2: Mt. Sabinyo Hike.
Early morning, you will set off to Mgahinga NP where you will have briefing from the park headquarters before heading for Mt.Sabinyo Hike. This will take 6-8 hours ascend and descend. You will be back from the volcano by 5pm. Dinner and overnight stay at Travelers rest Hotel/ Gahinga Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest NP and cultural walk.
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, you will set off to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP reaching early in the afternoon for lunch. You will then relax at the lodge and in the evening, you may go for cultural walk to the Batwa community or nature walk. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge/ Gorilla Mist Camp/ Ruhiija Gorilla Lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla tracking and cultural walk.
In the morning at 7am, you will gather at the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. You will then ascend into the forest in search of these amazing apes. After spending one hour with the gorillas, you will descend back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park and boat cruise.
Early morning, you will set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through Ishasha sector with game drive in search of the tree climbing lions. Proceed to Kazinga channel in the afternoon which will reward you with game as hippos, crocodiles, lots of bird species and other animals along the channel banks. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Kasenyi Safari Camp/ Irungu Lodge.
Day 7: Game drive and transfer to Kibale Forest NP.
Early morning, you will go for game drive to Kasenyi sector in search of game as lion, buffalos, hyenas, leopard among others. On return, you will set off to Kibale Forest NP reaching in the afternoon. You will go for nature walk to the crater lakes in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Primates Lodge Kibale/ Kibale Primates Cottages.
Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking and nature walk.
This morning, you will gather at the park headquarters for briefing before going for chimpanzee tracking where you will spend one hour with the chimpanzees. In the afternoon, go for nature walk to Bigodi wetland sanctuary where you will encounter more primates and birds. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Entebbe.
In the morning after breakfast, you will set off to Entebbe reaching early and transfer to the airport for the departure flight if on schedule.
