Game driving and viewing

A quite number of  savannah parks are your one stop destination for game viewing while in Uganda, these parks include kidepo national park in the far north of Uganda with  rare species like cheetahs you cannot find anywhere in the other savannah parks.

Murchison falls national park is one of the largest parks, extremely beautiful standing out of the parks with every other wildlife in big concentration including giraffes, oribi and heart beests. Besides that it is also a birders destination for the birder where one is able to spot birds like the African fish eagle and pelicans. Game drives in Murchison take place in the northern circuit crossing with a ferry from the southern circuit.

Queen Elizabeth national park is the most visited national park because of strategic location giving you a chance to visit other national parks along, other than that it is well concentrated with wild life species, the park has well maintained game viewing tracks which include the kasenyi track, leorpad loop, channel track the southern part of the park ishasha sector for the famous tree climbing lions.

Lake Mburo national park is a savannah commonly known for its largest concentration of zebras and impalas. Usually during dry season, animals are concentrated in the southern part of the park due to the lakes, there for its perfect for game viewing.

Among the four mentioned savannah parks all have notable wild life species like Uganda kobs, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles in the lakes, bush bucks, warthogs,Elephants,hynas, wild dogs, lions in queen, Murchison and kidepo national parks. These parks are also birders haven including aquatic bird species like such as Spur-winged Plovers, Fish Eagle, Pink and white backed Pelicans, African Jacana, Collard Pranticles, papyrus canary, verreauv’s eagle-owl, black bee-eater, Yellow backed Weavers, open-billed Stork, Water-Thick knee, Pied kingfishers, Squacco Heron, Wattled Plovers, Long tailed Cormorants, the Black Crake and the Knob-billed Ducks. Other prominent bird species include black-ramped buttonquail, squacco heron, African fish eagle, swamp fly-catcher, long-tailed cormorants, Martial Eagle, Black- rumped Buttonquail African Skimmer, White winged terns, White-winged Warbler, shoebill, African skimmer,

Boat /launch cruise

Launch trips take place on water bodies and Uganda has the largest water bodies, mention of kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth national park, the Nile River in Murchison falls national park, the source of Nile in jinja and Lake Mburo national park. Visit zziwa rhino sanctuary

Rhinos had become extinct in 1982, due to poaching but they were later restored in ziiwa sanctuary in nakasongola. The sanctuary covers an area of 7000 hectares and is home to other mammal species including antelopes, primates and reptile and different bird species. The sanctuary has a total of over 20 members which can be tracked on foot alongside birding and nature walk to supplement the visit in the sanctuary. Ziwa rhino sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you will be able to spot the white rhinoceros species.

White water rafting in jinja

One of the hilarious crazy activities to enjoy while on safari while in Uganda.  White water rafting only takes place at the source of the Nile in jinja. The activity is an adrenaline adventure that will get you screaming at the rapid water waves. White rafting gives you an opportunity to enjoy the activity depending on your experience according to the three available options grade 5 fully day rafting, grade 5 tandem rafting and grade 3 full day rafting. Other water activities to enjoy include kayaking, horse riding and biking at the source of the Nile.

Meet our little closest cousin in one of the tropical rain forests in kibale national chimpanzee tracking is the main activity while along you will be able to spot other primate species including olive baboons, l’hoest monkeys, red tailed monkeys,black and white colobus monkeys among others.other places to track chimps are Budogo forest in Murchison falls national park and kyambura gorge in Queen Elizabeth national park.

Birding

Uganda is a birders haven, with over 1000 bird species and 40 endemic species  hold your binocular and you will be able to spot a quite number of bird species which including the rare shoe bill stock im mabamba island, murchison falls. other bird species include Hartlaub’s Turaco, Lemon Dove, African Hill Babbler, Alpine Chat, Dusky-Turtle Dove, Black-throated Wattle-eye, Thick-billed Honeyguide, Mountain Yellow Warbler, Grey Cuckoo-Shrike, common Chiffchaff, the Uganda and Brown Woodland Warblers, Nightingale, Spotted Morning-Thrush, African Reed Warbler to mention but a few.
